MIDDLETOWN EVENT MANAGERS MEETING SET FOR SEPTEMBER 7
The fall meeting of area event managers will be on Wednesday, September 7, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the newly remodeled Middletown Art Center, 130 N. Verity Parkway in downtown Middletown.
The group meets to discuss issues of mutual concern to those who help present any of the many forms of entertainment in the Middletown area. Organized by the Middletown Convention and Visitors Bureau, all meetings are free and open to the public.
Subjects on the agenda for the September meeting are:
· Low attendance at some events
· Two or more events on same date
· Sponsors and raffle prize donors – complaints of too many requests
· Are there too many events? Should some combine or adopt an every-other-year schedule?
· How can we build a financial base for all events/performance groups? A joint funding system? Joint requests for sponsorships?
· Promotion of events through alternative methods
· Possible downtown art display
The gatherings, led by local realtor John Sawyer, while informal, are designed to present ideas for group discussion and action by those interested in moving forward with a positive idea to make Middletown’s events and attractions better. Two short presentations will be on the agenda with much of the two hours devoted to discussion and positive plans.
Those who cannot attend are asked to submit their upcoming events via email to be included in the community calendar maintained by the CVB on website http://www.visitMiddletown.org.
PLEASE RSVP to Ann Mort at 422-3030 or email to RMort@cinci.rr.com. Light refreshments will be available.
