MIDDLETOWN EARTH DAY CLEAN UP AND CLASSES APRIL 12
Middletown will get a good cleaning on Saturday, April 12, 8 am to 2 pm by volunteers. Anyone willing to help should meet at Cincinnati State Middletown campus at Central and Main Streets in downtown Middletown. Assignments, tools and bags will be available. Keep Middletown Beautiful director Jeff Michel is organizing the annual event. This year the focus will be on the downtown area but volunteers may work in any area they choose.
Groups already signed up include Kohl’s, Christ Community Church and Girl Scout Troops.
As a part of the Earth Day celebration, free classes will be held at the Cincinnati State headquarters.
Class schedule:

Prospective college students and families may also take the opportunity to tour the campus.
Each year, a part of the effort is focused on a single park which receives a major over-haul with the donated labor and equipment from professional landscapers, tree trimmers and gardeners. Past park rehab jobs have improved Sunset, Smith, Gardner and Douglass parks. Duke Energy staff members have been a big part of those efforts. A presentation to Tim Abbott of Duke will be held at 11 am.

Earth Day is sponsored by Rumpke, Butler County Recycling and Solid Waste District, Cincinnati State University and Stefano’s Italian Café.
