Fourteen new grants worth $63,000 have been approved by the Middletown Community Foundation for area programs. Applications for the grants are available at www.mcfoundatino.org.
For human needs and education programs, applications are due June 1st, requests for projects in recreation, the arts, festivals, community development and capital improvements are due September 1st.
The following may also apply for funding from the Middletown Community Foundation: charities, schools and governmental entities in Middletown, Monroe, Trenton, Franklin, Lemon Township and Madison Township. Applications not considered for grants include general operating support, fund-raising events, for-profit businesses, national organizations, religious purposes, political groups, endowments or medical organizations.
Middletown Community Foundation has awarded several million dollars to different organizations in and around the Middletown area over the past 32 years. In 1976 the foundation funded a component of the Middletown United Way which became an independent organization in 1986.
