The Bill Becker For City Council Committee have been sending out a weekly community calendar called 'Around Middletown with Bill Becker' for the past month and a half, a well-researched list of upcoming events in Middletown as well as school sports results and a message from Mr. Becker himself. This 6th issue, released on October 29th, is the final version, with a special message from Bill.

Message from Bill
Middletown, like many cities, has its challenges. But along with our challenges we have opportunity. In the next few years we must take advantage of our opportunities so future generations may enjoy our city.
Through advanced technology and communication capabilities we have seen many companies consolidate and regionalize their operations. For instance the phone company, electric company, and even our banks used to have a large local presence in cities the size of Middletown. Now most have consolidated their operations to serve larger areas
We are fortunate in being located on the interstate between Cincinnati and Dayton. We are now positioned to be the next Union Center area along the intestate as companies look to expand their regions even further. This growth will come as long as we continue to build a solid business-friendly foundation.
Much has been said about our downtown. The fact is, downtown will never be what it was 30 years ago regardless of how many studies or how much money we spend. But it will develop into a viable asset to our community as the private sector and city continue to work together.
The time for Middletown is now. We will build on our strengths as we tackle our problems. It starts on November 6th by putting competent people on City Council who will put the interests of the City above their own personal interests.
Middletown Journal Endorses Bill Becker
“By virtue of his long public service at City Hall, Becker, by far, is the candidate most prepared to go to work immediately on Middletown’s severe economic challenges…”
