Weekly Update to City Council
from the City Manager
August 9, 2009

I‐75/122 Project Budget Update

The City submitted a check in the amount of $6,402,451.00 to ODOT for our share of the interstate project and SR 122 widening(Part I and Part II).  Since the bid came in under the engineer’s estimate, our cost associated with the actual contract amount is $6,300,724.99, leaving $101,726.01 in the escrow account for change orders or other additions.  To date, the project has incurred 3 change orders (as approved by ODOT) totaling $164,998.62 – some of the costs are 100% federal for Part I (interstate) and some are 70% State/30% City for Part II (SR122) .  The associated City share totals for eligible items are $16,656.50.  This leaves an escrow balance of $85,069.51.  Though we do not have control over the change orders as this project is overseen by ODOT, we will work with ODOT to keep them to a minimum.

Breiel Blvd. Resurfacing Update
Barrett Paving begins work on Breiel Boulevard this week.  Traffic on the $1.36 million project is diverted to the inside lane in each direction so all wok can be completed in the outer lanes.  This phase is scheduled for completion in early October.  Once completed, traffic will be moved to the outer lanes and work will commence on the inside lanes.  The project is scheduled to be completed at the end of October.

Golf Course Revenues up over 2008
Our revenues are up by more than $80,000 from 2008, thanks to the weather and more people playing golf at Weatherwax.   Hopefully, this trend will continue!
