ANNUAL MIDDLETOWN BLUES MUSIC AND
MOTORCYCLE EVENT
SCHEDULED
FOR THIS WEEKEND

The
Hog festivities may have wrapped up in West Chester,
but the season is just beginning for our local Blues enthusiast and motorcycle
riders of alike.
The popular
Downtown Middletown Blues and Bikes festival returns to Donham Plaza
on June 16th with hundreds of motorcycles and a dynamic range of soul and
true blues vocalists such as of Scotty Bratcher,
Rockin Horse, Michale Locke and the Repeat Offenders as well as the 2007
Cincinnati Blues Challenge, 2nd place winner Miss Lissa & Co.
The outdoor
event has become a favorite for metro Blues music fans and motorcycle
enthusiast alike. Now in its 4th year, The Middletown Blues and Bikes supports
the local Blues scene by featuring homegrown talent from the Cincinnati-Dayton
region.
“These bands
are as good as any you’ll find anywhere with superior musicians” said Shawnda
Combs, event coordinator. “The crowds will be pleased with the selection of
music as we welcome back some of our favorites from years past.”
This event is
free and open to the public. An assortment of food vendors will be selling hot
foods and cold beverages. People attending the event should bring their own
seating.
“The Blues
and Bikes festival is family friendly, and The Manchester Inn is proud to be the
starting point of the charity motorcycle ride”, said Scott Stacey, General
Manager.
The proceeds
from the charity ride benefit the Middletown Parent Group and Butler County
Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities.
In
support of the charity, Butler County Commissioner Chuck Furmon will be
presenting the Commissioners Choice Award, the most coveted trophy awarded at
the event’s motorcycle show and contest.
“Everyone should have an opportunity to participate in community life
with fellow citizens and to develop a sense of belonging to the community”,
said Commissioner Furmon.
The
Motorcycle portion of the event is sponsored by Granger Plastics, Martin
Excavating, Rogers Jewelers, Budweiser, Imprint Promotions, D&D Swap Shop, Busters
Bar and Shipps Wheel Sport. The cost
for registering is only $20 per bike and the first 100 to register will receive
an official event T-shirt and other goodies donated by local businesses in
support of the ride.
The morning
festivities start at 10:30 am
with ride registration until 12:00 pm. The concert will begin at 4:00 pm and end approximately 10:00 pm.
