Middfest Invites People with Interests in Scotland to Planning Meeting
Wednesday, February 5, 2003 12:00:00 AM - Middletown Ohio
Groups and individuals with interests in Scotland or with Scottish family history, are invited to share their interest and knowledge with Middfest planners at an idea meeting.

According to Virginia Ritan, Executive Director of Middfest, Scotland will be the featured country for Middfest International 2003.

For the past 20 years, Middfest International has celebrated, educated and entertained over 2 million people. Middfest highlights the culture, history and people of a different country each year. Middfest 2002 was a 20 year/25 country Retrospective celebration bringing together all the past Middfest featured countries. Middfest begins its third decade of building international bridges of friendship and understanding with Scotland.

Planners hope to add ideas to the plans already in place for this year’s Middfest, which culminates in a three-day cultural event on Donham Plaza in downtown Middletown, October 3-5, 2003.

Anyone with an interest is invited to be at the Middfest office on Saturday, February 22, 2003 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. Middfest is located on the 4th floor of the Middletown City Building, One Donham Plaza, in downtown Middletown.

According to Ritan, “We depend on those who have close ties to our feature countries to add their ideas and knowledge to our planning to give Middfest the unique flavor of the countries. We are able to locate and present many representative art and culture works and the best of performers representing each country thanks to our contacts with people from those countries who now live in SW Ohio.”

To RSVP or for more information, call 513-425-7707 or email to middfest@siscom.net.
