Middfest International Exhibit Opening
Tuesday, September 14, 2004 2:58:07 PM - Middletown Ohio
What: Middfest International Exhibit Opening
When: Sunday, September 26th, 3-6pm
Where: The City Building, One Donham Plaza, Middletown, OH 45042

Come to learn something about the country of Chile; mingle with dignitaries and prominent artist; or just to sample the authentic Chilean fare prepared by our guest Executive Chefs, but by all means attend the opening of the exhibits of Middfest International 2004.

The opening of the Middfest Exhibits will start you on a wonderful exploration of this land of contrast. What may be unfamiliar to you now may result in a magnificent find to include in your vision of the future.

After you have enjoyed the food prepared by some of Chile's renowned Chefs begin your journey in the lobby of Middletown's City Building and venture upward to exhibits on all four floors. Each floor features guest sponsored by the Chilean Embassy, Delta Airlines and The Ohio Arts Foundation. Contemporary artists; Isabel Lorcka, Catalina Prado, Germaine Tagle and Ruby Araganiuz, will share their talents on the 2nd floor with all original oil painting for viewing and for sale. Next, Chilean folk art and craft will cover the 3rd floor with Mapuchi Weavings; Chiloe Island Knittings; pottery; baskets; wood crafts and more.  You will even find a display from the Chilean Cowboy, the Huaso, here. On the 4th floor admire great photography from Norbert Seebach and Ted Snyder, plus, the All Chilean Gift Shop.

The 2004 exhibit titles include:
History - Chile: Democracy Reclaimed
Culture - Starring the Arts: Cultures of Chile
Science - Chile: The Long Thin Land of Extremes
Literature and New Music Center
A complete guest roster and weekend schedule for October 1, 2 and 3, will soon be available on the website, www.middfestinternational.org.

Side Note: All 5 Executive Chefs will appear at Jungle Jim's for a "Jungle Tour and Chat" on Sept 29, 10am
