The best thing I have seen all day! |

So THIS is where our tax dollars are going! The City is broke and nearly dead yet the City Manager endorsed and "starred" in this video production that took many well-paid employees away from doing the jobs they're paid to do with our hard earned tax dollars. I would prefer they spend their time and OUR money ensuring criminals are taken off the streets, squads can make their runs in a timely manner, and that streets are plowed and salted for everyone's safety. The video is not even 3 minutes long but how many "on-duty" hours were spent planning, taping, and producing it? I see nothing wrong with the City wishing happy holidays to its citizens (a short message on TV Middletown perhaps?), but this video only goes to show what a joke the City of Middletown is. "White Christmas" is obviously a Christian song; Did they even stop to think that this particular song might offend some of our citizens who aren't of the Christian faith? If there was any hope at all of portraying Middletown as a city of professionals to draw in more businesses, they should probably cross it off their Christmas/Holiday list until some true professionals are hired to run the City...not a bunch of YouTube Wanna-Be's. |

I would rather live in a city that's "a joke" than one that's afraid of what little minds would think should a city employee dare to say "Merry Christmas" while on the clock. |

I think MiddletownUSA may have avoided posting this. It appears at the ending, it was intended solely for the consumption of the Middletown employees.
By posting it, you got many upset about the time, money, and waste associated with it, when it was intended in a spirit I assume, to uplift employees, not be front and center of the website.
If it was sent to MUSA, shame and misjudgment, by the city and staff. Just send emails and nice notes, and hold an annual Christmas party. No need to be draped in an ambulance with lights flashing, nor have clerks from the court swinging back and forth with Oakley's on. |

I think this video is GREAT!!!It's wonderful to see the lighter side of our public servants. They deal with so much stress on a day to day basis. As far as my tax dollars at work, chances are,it was filmed when people were off duty or off work.To those who don't like it,LIGHTEN UP!Don't watch it if it offends you. |

Well Done! Thank you to all who are public servants. To those who are upset about tax dollars spent, move to Trenton. Your attitude stinks like the poo plant going in to Trenton. Merry Christmas to everyone; even the grinches of Middletown. |

If Dave schiavone was disciplined for having drinks while on the clock, why then, are the city workers not disciplined for the time used to make the video. Were they all doing the production "after hours." Doubtful. Good for them. Funny, joyful, and "double standards" have no place in public service anyway. |

You dumd#$% ... If you were that interested you would have read the paper and saw that it COST NOTHING to make... Some people are so stupid .. Why do they have to live in Middletown... I LOVE THIS VIDEO... |

I think it was awesome! We do need some laughter in this town and help to spread a little Christmas cheer. Keep up the smiles - I am looking forward to the sequel next year. |

I don't like the fact they had employees rehearsing for their roles. Didn't cost the tax payer money? Sure it did. Taping during work hour. TVMiddletown is funded by whom?
Didn't bring any joy to me, I see enough of the city actions weekly which makes me laugh so hard, I can hardly speak, so I don't need this added treat for cheer. Were the sun glasses for embarrasment or the production light too bright.
Most of Middletown watched Christmas In Ct, A Christmas Story, or White Christmas. I'm sure this made the employees feel great, especially the family of the deceased worker who the manager didn't even acknowledge his passing nor contribution on tape. Swell town, waste of funds and time. |

Good grief people. This is NOT the worst thing that has happened this year, and for God's sakes, it's something "light and cheery!" We live in a "dying" town remember? Uncontrollable crime, No money to pay it's employees, and most small business (and some bigger ones) are closing. Let's not pick so much on the city workers for this. Worse things go on within the city "operations", so take this in stride, and grin a little. |

Way to go Middletown City workers!! The jobs that all of you do throughout the year are very stressful and some dangerous. I personally thank you all for doing such a fine job serving and protecting the somewhat grateful citizens of Middletown. It is nice to see that with the economy the way it is, some can still take time to laugh and have fun, and be in the Christmas spirit. Too bad other cities did not take the time out to thank their employees for such a job well done throughout the year. For those hum-bugs that are always finding something or someone to criticize.. think about it the next time you need that police officer, fire fighter, Medic or just some paper work done by one of these wonderful workers. I am sure they won't criticize having to help YOU!! Just take time out to Stop this negativity and smile. Then the next time you pass one of these city workers, how about saying to them, "Job well done! Thank you for all your help!! |

after reading all comments, it seems that most posters have taken their position far to seriously. Nice to see a happy crew in a city(I am new in town) that seems so depressed and barren. no harm--no foul. so--call me Art Lover for short. Got Art--you do now! |
