Mayor Schiavone Seeking County Commission Seat |

Almost a month after publicly announcing that he would not be running for Mayor again when the first public elections for the office are to be held late this year, Councilman David Schiavone has stated interest in replacing Michael Fox on the Butler County Board of Commissioners for the remainder of his 18 month term. Fox recently turned in his resignation in favor of pursuing the $125,000/yr executive director position in the Butler County Job and Family Services department. Schiavone cited time commitment difficulties as his reason for not wishing to continue as Mayor, but feels that he would be able to adequately perform in the $74,000/yr county commission seat.
