Subject: Lost on the School Funding Math
Dr. Price, Eric Sotzing, Debbie Alberico:
I am trying to understand why the schools need more money. Here are the facts as I see them.
Since the last levy there has been:
1. $4.1 Million Reduction in Staff (annual savings)
2. Newer Schools require less maintenance
3. Shrinking school population
Schools are asking for
$7.7 Mill which is $3.7 more than just renewal.
With a smaller staff and fewer, newer buildings, shouldn't a renewal alone be enough?
Do I have my facts wrong?
