Monday, July 16, 2007 9:10:22 AM - Middletown Ohio

Middletown, Ohio - The Main Street Art and Music Festival with Classic Car Cruise-In had a big turnout and ended with a bang, a fireworks bang. It all took place on Central and at the Bicentennial Commons with the Finkleman Grand Finale Concert.

Great Job ACF, MAMF, and Rumford Productions! That's a cool little video to watch--the toddler was adoreable!! Better coverage of the fireworks than the WEBN coverage!

Maybe Art Central Foundation could use this as a commercial for next year? Use on TV Middletown?
Great way to promote.

What a great video of a great event. Don and Deborah of Rumford Productions, use there talents for free time and time again to promote Downtown Middletown. What a good neighbor to have on Central Avenue.
As for the event a handful of dedicated people from the Art Central Foundation pulled this off with minimal cash and untolled hours of time. Sue Rogers of Artique Gallery is the fireball that pushes to make things happen. I do not believe she sleeps. She along with Joe Wittman headed up the drive to bring the fireworks back to Middletown. She and I contacted private citizens to donate the money to pay for them. We fell several thousand dollars short of the $20,000 goal we were shooting for but Lynch Fireworks, the company that Sue and Joe hired gave us the most amazing display in the sky that evening. It was just perfect. If you missed it you really did miss a great show. The free concert on the river bank with great music capped off by the pyrotechnic show gave me cold chills. A roar came from the crowd at the end that let us know the crowd loved it and we were successful. The Middletown Community Foundation,The Finkleman Family and our private donors made the riverfront event possible.
Rob Hoffman of Alpha Dawg Records never lets us down with putting together the talented groups that perform for free. I would personally like to thank them all for the entertainment that they brought to the crowds that day. It was an amazing line up.
The City of Middletown employees from Planning, Public Works, Parks, and Transportation were just the best to work with. They readied permits. cleaned the area, delivered tables and cans, got us through the hassles that came about for having the fireworks on the riverfront. We are grateful for having you in our city.
The volunteers that manned our booths seem to always be there for us. We could not do this without them. There are the property owners on Central and Main streets that provided electric from their buildings and let us use their storefronts for free help to make Got Art and MAMF a reality.
Joe Wittman and The American Legion volunteers John Hinkle and Tony Marchetti who helped get the electric wired. Mervin Bair and Melvin Back brought us the most wonderful classic car cruise-in. They worked hard to get the cars there. Digital Visuals, Jim and Debbie Edwards made our banners and signs and dealt with a timeline that I am sure stressed them and yet were there to help when needed. Dick and Ann Mort are our mentors as they have been involved with many activities in our community give us their help and advice very much appreciated. And to my husband Jay who kept our business BeauVerre Riordan Studios open all day and did not get to be outside, has dealt with countless days of interruptions to put this event on I love you even more for your support. And Thank You to our community for turning out to make it a great day. Look for a bigger and better event next year. Support the Arts by joining us at Art Central Foundation events.
