MIDDLETOWN, OHIO
PET NIGHT AND BALLOON GLOW SET FOR LIGHT UP MIDDLETOWN
Santa and the Mrs. will be at Light Up Middletown on Tuesday December 9, from 7pm to 9 pm so pet owners can have a photo of their furry friends taken with Santa. Photos are $10 each.
On December 11, at 7 pm, local hot air balloon pilots and their crews will inflate the balloons and light them up with the propane burners to become a part of the nighttime show at Smith Park. As with all balloon events, high winds or rain/snow would prevent the event.
On Friday and Saturday nights through 12/20, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on hand to greet children. Photos with Santa are $10 (two of the same pose - $15).
Due to additions to the display area this year, there are a few route changes inside the park. Guests will enter and exit Smith Park from Tytus Avenue/North Main as usual. Once inside the park, vehicles will turn right to circle the pond. On the first turn (near the Canal House) Santa and the Mrs. will be in the Santa House. A parking lot at that corner will make visiting easy.
Near the Skate Park, the new animated/synchronized display will be near a large parking lot where guests can pull in, watch the display for as long as they like and then pull out the other end of the parking lot.
Circling on around the pond, guests will pass the whales, Santa’s Workshop, several other displays and then turn right at the 4-way stop and travel through a parking lot past the 12 days of Christmas, then turn left onto the roadway and return to exit at the tunnel of lights.
Light Up Middletown, a drive-through fantasy animated display, runs from through New Year’s Eve, 6-10 pm every single night, including holidays.
Admission is by cash donation. Guests set their own admission fees.
To visit, take I-75 to the Middletown Exit 32, and turn west. Take SR122 to the downtown area. The event is off Verity Parkway, Smith Park, 500 Tytus Avenue in downtown Middletown, 45042. Contact Flo Randall at 513-423-1877, 513-267-2789 or www.lightupmiddletown.org
