LIGHT UP MIDDLETOWN WELCOMES 6,987 GUESTS – FIRST WEEKEND
The cars were lined up for the opening night and continued steadily through the first weekend of Light Up Middletown’s drive-thru fantasy light display. During the first three nights of operation, 6,987 people in 1,977 vehicles toured the 100 acre Smith Park event.
Every car is greeted at the entrance gate and the number of people in the car is counted and recorded according to their home county so the organizers can have an idea of the reach of the event and where to focus future advertising.
Light Up Middletown is open every night 6-10 pm, including all holidays through New Year’s Eve. The month-long event is held in Smith Park, 500 Tytus Avenue, in downtown Middletown, Ohio. (I-75, Exit 32)
Admission is by donation, as usual. Guests are asked to make a cash donation of any size at the gate to help defray the costs of new displays and park upgrades.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be visiting with children every Friday and Saturday 7-9 pm through December 18. Photos are available with a donation of $10 per photo or two prints of the same photo for $15.
