From Judy Gilleland - City manager
The interstate construction project remains on schedule for the southbound lanes to be completed and reopened prior to the onset of winter. Final grading, painting of structures, and the addition of thermoplastic pavement markings will not be complete until the Spring of 2012. The project is still scheduled for completion in July 2012.
While ODOT is in charge of the project administration and approves all work orders and change orders, the city will be responsible for a portion of the costs. As such, we continue to track the progress and our associated costs. The project total is $150M, our share will end up close to $7M; great leverage of funds for Middletown! To date change orders and extra work associated with our activity codes total $403,741.16. There is $101,726.01 in escrow from the original borrowing on the project, leaving $302,015.15 remaining for the City to provide toward the project. Staff anticipates an invoice from ODOT late 2012 or early 2013. We have budgeted $350,000 in the proposed 2012 Capital Improvement Fund for these additional costs.
