FREE CREDIT WORKSHOP SLATED FOR FEBRUARY 25
Monday, February 4, 2008 3:37:26 PM - Middletown Ohio

by Nancy Nix

Butler County Treasurer Nancy Nix invites local residents to attend a FREE “Rebuild Your Credit” workshop on February 25, 6-8 pm at Butler Tech, 3603 Hamilton-Middletown Road (SR4 between Hamilton and Middletown). The two-hour session will help those facing foreclosure and bankruptcy, or those who just want to learn how to avoid financial pitfalls and secure lower cost borrowing.

The workshop is being provided by Ohio State Treasurer Richard Cordray in conjunction with Consumer Credit Counseling Service, Trans Union, and the Butler County Treasurer’s Office. While the workshop is FREE, reservations are required.  Please call the State Treasurer’s office at 800-228-1102.  Refreshments will be available compliments of U.S. Bank, NA.

All materials are provided. Attendees will learn the 12 steps to taking control of credit card debt, how to deal with income loss, divorce, medical bills and foreclosure.  Several Butler County agencies serving people with financial difficulties will be on hand with information about their services.

Butler County cities and public servants have joined together to support the efforts of Treasurer Nix as a way to meet the financial crisis facing a growing number of Butler County families. Local partners supporting the workshop include: Butler County Commissioners Jolivette, Furmon and Dixon, Butler County Auditor Kay Rogers, the cities of Hamilton, Middletown, Fairfield, Trenton and Monroe.

For more information contact Nancy Nix’s office at 513-887-3166 or email nixn@butlercountyohio.org.
