When Robert Bartman of Gainesville, Florida lost his dog ten months ago, he assumed the worst: that the dog had been stolen or was dead. That was until he got a call from Kara Coheen, the practice manager at All About Health Care, 3410 Tytus Ave. Coheen informed him that his beloved pet, a Chihuahua named "Chachi," was in Middletown, some 825 miles from his home.
According to Patricia Ross, a Whittier Street resident, the dog found his way into her garage. Ross told the Middletown Journal she searched her neighborhood for the dog's owner without any luck and eventually took him to All About Pet Care where they discovered the dog had a microchip with Bartman's contact information.
Chachi was taken to the Dayton International Airport where he was put on a flight to Florida. After receiving much needed medical attention, Chachi and Bartman have been reunited. Chachi was gift from Bartman's mother who died in a car accident about five years ago.
