Marty Kohler brings a pair of zoning ordinance issues before City Council, specifically a provision concerning sidewalk sales and the other concerning traffic vision clearance. The planning commission recommends amendments to both of these ordinances; sidewalk sales to be allowed on private sidewalks, and constructions to be allowed up to 25 feet from the right-of-way line, a change from the previous 50 feet.
The second issue Mr. Kohler recommends to council is a proposal to construct a self-storage complex within what is classified as a retail district. Self-storage units are classified as warehousing constructions under Middletown zoning law, which are not normally allowed to be built in retail districts.
