Middletown High School Economics students will introduce sixth grade students to the concept of globalization of business as it relates to the various careers students may choose to pursue. Sixth grade students will learn to understand:
1. That businesses need individuals with skills that are in demand in the workplace. They will learn about entrepreneurship, as well as the different types of resources needed in business production.
2. The impact of global competition on business needs for employees and production materials.
Delivering the program in this manner is also an opportunity for MHS students to serve as role models and hone their presentation skills. MHS students will learn what is like to be in a teaching role and how to motivate young students.
The curriculum is provided by the Junior Achievement Program.
