On Saturday, September 17 the Monroe Historical Society museums will be open from 10am – 2pm and we have a very special guest to entertain our visitors – George Armstrong Custer!
Well, not really (he died in 1876) but famed Civil War cavalry reenactor Rick Williams will be here discussing his new book and talking about his part in Monroe’s big upcoming Civil War Days reenactment/living history event to be held in October. Rick is a very personable and passionate man and we think you will really enjoy meeting him. He will be at the museum starting at 11am.
You can check out his website for more info and we hope make the time to stop by - admission is FREE. 2 & 10 E. Elm St in downtown Monroe, across from First Financial Bank on S. Main St.
