Fiscal Prudence
• Examine ways to combine services – regionalize – Health, Transit and others
• Discuss cost cutting possibilities: hiring freeze, no capital purchases, freeze step increases, others
• Monitor Public Safety levy
• Monitor long term finances

• Establish monthly meetings of Housing Authority (City Council) and system of reporting
• Finalize contract for administrator
• Establish and implement policy on lowering Section 8 Housing vouchers

• Brownfield Redevelopment
Restore SocioEconomic
Balance
• Establish programs to incentivize teachers, police, fire, hospital, university, city employees to live in the
city
• Encourage upscale senior housing options
• Preserve and protect currently healthy neighborhoods that might be at risk ‐ Encourage reinvestment,
work with financial institutions, home improvement stores, residents
• Embrace the diversity of Middletown
• Partner with Middletown Schools to improve educational system
• Examine Mixed‐use projects like Hope VI to revive low income areas
Improve City Image
• Street Improvement Program – sign replacement, pothole repairs, striping, crack sealing, resurfacing
projects, I75/SR 122 widening
• Enforce Property Maintenance and Zoning Codes
• Demolish or rehab blighted structures
• Work with Railroads to improve crossings
• Increased positive PR efforts
