Butler County's job base is growing by leaps and bounds. The past couple of years have started an upward trend of investment and job creation in Butler County that continue to grow with each year that passes. Businesses invested more than $856 million dollars in Butler County in 2007, smashing the previous investment record of $651 million set in 2005.
Butler County officials have stated that nearly 3,000 new jobs were created in the county this year, with another 3,000 retained. According to County Commissioner Charles Furmon, Butler County is creating more jobs and getting more investments than any other county in Ohio by far. Much of the growth in the county is centered around West Chester, itself one of the fastest growing townships in the state.
By all accounts, the growth will continue. Assistant County Administrator Tim Williams believes that it is a result of Butler County's central location to the Dayton and Cincinnati metropolitan areas, and the roadway system connecting the two. As these areas both continue to grow, Butler County will benefit from that growth in both directions.
