Adults have many options for continued education through the Community Education Department of Middletown City Schools.
Many adults take beginning computer classes at the Manchester School complex next door to Middletown High School.
Beginning Microsoft Word will be offered on Tuesdays from 3:45 to 5:45 or 6-8 pm beginning January 14. Cost for the four week course is $41.
Internet and E-mail is offered on Thursdays at 3:45 to 5:45 or 6 to 8 pmn beginning January 16. Cost is $41.
Instructor for both classes is Debbie Ingram, who not only teaches technology workshops but is also employed as a Middletown City School nurse.
A free course is being offered as a public service. “Keeping Kids Safe Online” will be offered on Wednesday, January 15, 6:30 to 8:30 pm and again on January 22 at 12:30 to 2:30 pm. Mike Bowling, Coordinator of Technology for the Middletown City School District, will lead the class. The class focuses on the issues parents must confront when their children begin using the internet. Those who attend will learn the issues, the risks, child-safe search engines, and how to keep their kids safe in cyberspace.
Adults who have not finished high school may register for adult high school classes or may join any of several free brush-up classes to prepare for the GED high school equivalency diploma test.
To register for any of the classes or for more information, call 420-4520. Visa and Mastercard are accepted. |
