741 Center Springs Into Wellness
Mark your calendar for Tuesday, April 25th and join the 741 Center Wellness Fair from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. “The 741 Center, a program of Warren County Community Services, Inc., is coordinating with Conover Health Plus to provide the latest in wellness information, screenings and nutrition,” according to Michelle Carpenter, Senior Center Coordinator.
Most events will open at 10:00 AM but screenings for fasting cholesterol and blood glucose will begin at 8:30 AM and continue through noon. You should not eat anything before the cholesterol and blood glucose screenings. Conover will offer a three part stroke screening, osteoporosis screening, a derma scan or skin screening, and heart attack risk screen and breast cancer education. In addition, a free balance screen will be available. Some of the screenings do have an associated cost and require pre-registration. Call 1-800- 888-8362 to reserve your spot.
The American Lung Association will have a Freedom from Smoking information booth to describe the six- week stop smoking class that will be held at the 741 Center.
The Good Feet Store, Arthritis Foundation, Cincinnati Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired, and the American Cancer Society will also be available to share information. Manicures will be available and Wild Oats Market will join us to share healthy eating tips. Door prizes and refreshments will be available.
Luncheon, served at noon, includes chicken alfredo, vegetables, salad bar, and fresh strawberries. The 741 Center, offers ongoing wellness, exercise and dance programs along with classes that cover everything from computers to ceramics. Travel opportunities are available for day and overnight trips as well as volunteer options. The 741 Center serves lunch Monday through Friday for a suggested donation of $2.00 for persons 60 and over and their spouses. Persons under 60 can enjoy the lunch for $5.25.
